Certified or Legal Translation in Dubai? Know the Difference
In Dubai, the kind of translation dictates the authority that will accept it. It is essential to distinguish between legal translations and certified translations.
Certified Translation: The Certified Translation is supported by a formal certification from the translation company that confirms the authenticity and reliability that the document translated is genuine and accurate. It is typically accepted for medical transcripts and academic documents, and also for certain requirements for immigration in situations where a formal stamp of endorsement from the MOJ must be obtained. It is not required. The Ministry of Justice (MOJ) is not required.
Legal Translation: This is the most prestigious quality of translation that is available in the UAE. Legal translations can only be done by a translator who is legally authorised and registered in the UAE Ministry of Justice. Each page of a legally valid translation is accompanied by the seal of the translator and their official signature, which demonstrates its legitimacy for legal, governmental and diplomatic usage. It is not a matter of negotiation for submissions to government departments, courts (including MOFA), and embassies.
Wadi Alhuroof Translation Services provides both certified and legal Arabic translation services, making sure that your documents are in perfect alignment with the specifications of any institution within Dubai. We will clarify this distinction prior to the start of each project, so you are guaranteed to receive the correct service.
